Spring has sprung!

As you are probably aware, we have had some nice, mild days this early spring season so far. It became evident in the late winter that both of the horizontal hives are alive, but it looks like the vertical hive is dead. When we got a couple of really warm days in the 60's, the vertical hive had bees on it, which led me to believe it was being robbed by the other two. I have not opened the vertical hive to look inside yet. I did not look yesterday (3-17-22) to see if pollen was coming in yet, but a day or two earlier I did not see any yet. Maple trees are still being tapped, so they are not blooming yet. However, I will not be surprised to see some early pollen from small wildflowers in the next few days.
