Here at Abbott Farms we have bees, dairy goats, chickens, turkeys a large garden and experimental plots of small grains. We are a "homestead" where we attempt to produce most of our own food or obtain it from nearby friends and neighbors. We have been experimenting with not only growing food, but also producing personal care products such as lip balm, soap, shampoo and lotion. We also make all our own cheese, both hard and soft from our own goat milk. We grow our own vegetables, including dry corn for grinding and popcorn. We decided that wheat is too hard for a small operation. We have grown hull-less oats with success, but not in several years.
